Reepot is a 532 nm laser by Classys (Korea) designed for solar lentigines, the flat brown age spots caused by sun exposure. Its VSLS technology uses cooling and compression to briefly reduce blood flow in the treated skin, so the laser acts on pigment with less effect on blood vessels. How It Works
The Reepot laser emits Q-switched pulses at 532 nm, a wavelength strongly absorbed by melanin in the epidermis. Because 532 nm is also absorbed by haemoglobin, VSLS (Vasculature Salvage Laser Surgery) applies cooling and compression through the handpiece to clear blood from the area for a moment during each shot.
As 532 nm is absorbed near the surface, treatment is directed at epidermal lesions such as solar lentigines and age spots rather than deeper dermal pigment.

What is Reepot?
Reepot is a 532 nm Nd:YAG laser by Classys (Korea) designed for solar lentigines, the flat brown age spots caused by years of sun exposure. The 532 nm wavelength is strongly absorbed by melanin near the skin surface, which makes it suitable for epidermal spots rather than deeper dermal pigment.
How VSLS works
532 nm light is also absorbed by haemoglobin in blood, which can cause redness and heat around a treated spot. VSLS (Vasculature Salvage Laser Surgery) uses cooling and gentle compression through the handpiece to briefly reduce blood flow in the treated skin. Is Reepot right for my spots?
Reepot is used for flat, well-defined brown spots from sun exposure and ageing on the face, hands or body. Raised spots such as seborrheic keratoses may need a different device, and melasma or deeper dermal pigment is treated differently. Dr. Kim decides at consultation which spots are suitable and which device fits each one.
Recovery
Treated spots usually darken and form a thin crust within 1–2 days. Keep the crust covered as instructed and let it fall off by itself, usually in about 7–10 days. The new skin is pink at first and blends in over the following weeks.
Planning your trip to Seoul
- Allow about 7–10 days for crusts to fall off before important events or photos.
- Keep the protective patches on as instructed, including while travelling.
- Use SPF 50 daily once the skin has healed to reduce the chance of new spots.
Possible side effects
Expected effects include redness, crusting and temporary pinkness. Temporary darkening (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) can occur, especially with sun exposure, and usually fades over several months. Lightening of the skin, incomplete clearance and new spots in sun-exposed areas are possible. Scarring is rare.

Can Reepot remove age spots in one session?
Many solar lentigines respond to one session. Some spots need a touch-up, depending on their depth and your skin type.
What does VSLS mean?
VSLS stands for Vasculature Salvage Laser Surgery. It uses cooling and compression to reduce blood flow in the treated skin during treatment, so the laser acts on pigment with less effect on blood vessels.
How long until the crusts fall off?
Usually about 7–10 days. Plan your trip so that you do not have important events or photos during this time.
Can age spots come back after Reepot?
Treated spots usually stay lighter, but new spots can appear with sun exposure. Daily sunscreen helps.
Can Reepot treat melasma?
Melasma is a different condition and needs a separate plan. Dr. Kim assesses it at consultation.
Reepot or ruby laser: which is right for me?
Reepot is designed for surface age spots. The ruby laser also reaches deeper pigment such as Nevus of Ota. Dr. Kim chooses according to the type and depth of each spot.
